Death and Faith
What does this mean, Am I willing to die for my faith? Maybe the question should be, Am I willing to die for someone else's faith?
God demonstrated his love through Christ dying for us, while we were still opposed to God. So how do we demonstrate his love for the world? It seems if I follow this passage, then I need to be willing to make sacrifices for those around me. I need to die to self in order to reach people who don't know God's love. I need to be humbled in order to love those who have offended me. I must be willing to sacrifice anything, everything to follow Jesus' example. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8 (NIV)
Who will I truly love today? In words, or in "death"?
