Death and Faith

What does this mean, Am I willing to die for my faith? Maybe the question should be, Am I willing to die for someone else's faith?

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8 (NIV)

God demonstrated his love through Christ dying for us, while we were still opposed to God. So how do we demonstrate his love for the world? It seems if I follow this passage, then I need to be willing to make sacrifices for those around me. I need to die to self in order to reach people who don't know God's love. I need to be humbled in order to love those who have offended me. I must be willing to sacrifice anything, everything to follow Jesus' example.
Who will I truly love today? In words, or in "death"?
