I keep forgetting...

...that God chooses me first. I keep thinking that I have some great idea for God, or some great motivation to serve God. But really he moves first, and then I just respond (hopefully). Paul said, "I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus *took hold* of me." (Phil.3:12)
We serve God and others today because he chose us to do so, in whatever thing is laid before us. "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Eph.2:10) He wants to 'take hold' of us today, and use us for good. May we all respond today, in each opportunity, with humility and grace.
