Rupture

Thanks for all the emails and comments to "get well soon". It's actually going to take about 6 months, so pray for patience. ;)
Wanted to fill you in on the story, b/c so many people have been asking...
It was Thanksgiving weekend, and dad and I were moving a mattress upstairs from the basement. We have an open stairway, and dad carrying the top end. Halfway up, the mattress gets stuck around the corner, and my dad trips and falls off the stairs, onto a desk, and onto the floor.
In a crazy moment my instinct was to try to 'catch' him or at least try to break his fall. Unsuccessful. I am not a super hero (not yet).
After the mayhem he ended up fine, and it looked like I pulled or strained my right bicep. He called a specialist and he said to let it heal for 3 months. So I did. There was little to no pain, and the muscle wasn't balled up like you see in sports injuries, so I figured it would be fine.
Turns out after 3 months, it looked the same, so one MRI later, I am told that one of my biceps was ruptured (yes, there are two bicep muscles in each arm). The surgery was scheduled and the rest is painful history.
Friday, I go in to get the splint and stitches removed, and then 6 weeks of wearing a brace (and hopefully driving again!). Then 4 months of rehab and I'm (almost) as good as new. However, I will be looking for another superpower to weild, since that whole super strength/speed thing didn't quite work out.
