Live Revolutionary Lives...
"Were they to stir up a political uprising? Were they to fight for positions of power and inflict their will? Were they to form a mass strategy for proclaiming the gospel to every household by the end of the decade?
"No. The life Paul called them to was less dazzling, much simpler..."

Life on the Edge
WOW - two entries in one month!!! But I read this excerpt from Sophie Scholl and I had to share... I think we should all have the same heart...
Life on the Edge Sophie Scholl
The real damage is done by those millions who want to "survive." The honest men who just want to be left in peace. Those who don’t want their little lives disturbed by anything bigger than themselves. Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won’t take measure of their own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don’t like to make waves-or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honor, truth, and principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die small. It’s the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small, you’ll keep it under control. If you don’t make any noise, the bogeyman won’t find you. But it’s all an illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch does. I choose my own way to burn."
What do you think...?

The Wedding
I meant to blog this last week, but too busy... Anyway, I got to officiate my first wedding a couple weekends ago.
What an experience. I have been in so many weddings, and the "pastor's" role has eluded me (as well as the groom's role) ;) Kate Azerolo is now married to Jamie Hobbs and I got to say, "I now pronounce you man and wife."
It was actually pretty simple, as far as weddings go. I went through all the official language - pretty much followed the outline. But at the end, I was amazed. I married this couple. Like the others who participated, God used me to bless Kate and Jamie in a way that no one else will.
And I thought about our lives - how we all have different gifts, talents, and personalities. And I know once again that God wants to use me and you to bless others in a way that no one else can. He made us one-of-a-kind to do one-of-a-kind things everyday.
As I search for a new 'ministry position', may I continue to be open to being used each day to uniquely minister to those in my path. May you do the same.
